Tomb of the Apostle Philip?

This report claims that the “Tomb of St. Philip the Apostle [has been] Discovered in Turkey.”

What has actually been found is a Byzantine church which was built on the claimed site of the tomb of Philip.  Whether it is the actual site of the tomb of Philip is a different question.

Once again, the media demonstrates its inability to accurately report on historical, archaeological and religious issues.

Perhaps, but better described as a bell similar to those described as worn on the robes of the High Priest.

I’m Back!

I’ve been gone for three weeks during which I presented a paper in London, attended a conference, did some research, a bit of touring, and a visit to my most excellent grandchildren.
